When designing for men or women, preferences can vary. We’re not aiming to rely on stereotypes or rigid generalizations—clearly, people of any gender can share similar tastes. However, it’s undeniable that certain design elements tend to appeal more to a large segment of either the male or female audience. Recognizing these differences can make a real difference in how well a design is received.

For example, we remember a situation from a few years ago when we tried to innovate by launching a pilot test of t-shirt designs inspired by powerful and motivational phrases like “Follow Your Dreams.” We wanted the style to be as unisex as possible so that both men and women would feel drawn to them.

To our surprise, only men ended up buying them—probably because the designs used bold-style typography and had a very minimal, sober look with few decorative elements. Back then, women tended to prefer designs with lettering-style fonts and symbols that felt more personal or representative, like flowers or icons.

In the case of women, they often prefer simple illustrations that carry strong aesthetic and symbolic value. Designs that convey elegance and personality are especially popular, particularly those that use techniques like one-line art—where abstract figures, faces, or human hands are drawn using a single fine, delicate line.

This type of design has worked really well for us, as it has proven to be incredibly profitable. We have someone on our team who’s highly skilled in this style and can create unique compositions in a short amount of time. After all, having excellent and attractive designs is pointless if their physical prints fall short compared to their digital counterparts—what’s more, as designers, we put a lot of effort into creating designs, and we don’t want the printed product to give a bad impression of our work.

• Vector Files: The first and most important step is to create illustrations using software that allows you to work with vectors. Unlike pixel-based files, vector files can be scaled to any size without compromising image quality.

Some of the best software for working with vectors include Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW, which are professional paid options. For a free alternative, Inkscape is an excellent choice.

• Print-Ready Files: It’s essential to meet the minimum technical requirements for printing and to ensure your files are in their final version, requiring no additional adjustments. 10. Black and White

    Black and white will always be the ultimate perfect combination, as the strong contrast they create is versatile, timeless, and gives the design visual clarity and simplicity. But not all the composition has to be black and white; for example sometimes we like to add an element of a different color, and the results are something we are very proud of.

    It is common to see sans-serif (modern and clean) or serif (more classic and elegant) typography. Shadows and highlights are often used to add depth. With no additional colors, the focus is on creating a strong visual composition.

    “Cute” always aims to evoke positive and pleasant emotions through adorable, cartoonish illustrations or anthropomorphized objects with big eyes and smiles, in pastel colors like pink, light blue, mint, and lavender.     We find this style incredibly versatile, offering a wide variety of elements, which is why we often incorporate it into our designs. Compositions inspired by past eras, typically between 1920 and 1980, that evoke feelings of nostalgia and often feature very distinct and characteristic design styles from those times, are the ones that dominate.

    The goal is to revive the aesthetics of the chosen era, either with representations true to how the style was in the past or through current reinterpretations. Visual effects simulating the passage of time are also commonly used, such as scratches, fading, wrinkles, or old elements like cameras, typewriters, radios, and so on.

Personally, I love these types of designs because they feel incredibly fresh and eye-catching. The first time I saw one was on my friend’s T-shirt, the most unique and cool one I own. She’s always on trend with all sorts of super original and awesome clothes, so this style really resonated with her vibe and personality. After that, I started seeing it on more people around me, and for sure, it will be widely used in 2025.

There are definitely words that have the power to impact us so much that we wish we could carry them with us in our everyday lives. Some people do it through a tattoo, for example, and many others do it on our T-shirts. That’s why, in 2025, get ready to see many quote designs with this style where the letter is the main focus.
